Our home has been located in several different places over the years. We have lived in Alaska (7 years total), Hawaii (3.5 years total), Idaho (we were married here and spent the first three and a half years of our marriage here), and Washington DC (2 years). We love experiencing and embracing all of the different cultures and traditions in each of the areas we have lived. We don't currently live near any of our relatives, but keep in regular contact with all of them. We visit our families whenever the opportunity arises and love sharing our home with them when they can come and visit us.
Our home for now is located in the beautiful state of Hawaii. We were transferred here by the Coast Guard in June of 2010 and plan to be here through the summer of 2013. We are excited to be back in Hawaii! We lived on the island of Maui from 2005 - 2008 and loved every minute. This time around, we are living on the island of Oahu. It is a lot different than Maui, but we are loving all the things this island has to offer.
The Coast Guard moves our family every three or four years, and we always include a request for an area with family near, even though we don't ultimately get to choose where we will live. Unless we specifically request it, we will only be living within the United States (or its territories) while working for the Coast Guard.
